GuardPoint10 API Centre

Posted in News, Solutions

The new API centre in GuardPoint10 allows many possibilities in making GuardPoint10 much more than just an access control system. The API allows systems to be linked together and provide automation as well as personalized applications for specific needs. For example:

  • A schools existing student management software could be used to also create the student on the GP10 system.
  • A building management software could be used to control the doors and alarm inputs

Completely new applications can also be created to interact with GP10. The are many possibilities which means customers can have applications tailored to their business needs.

See:https://sensoraccess.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002135857-API-Demo-Visitor-Portal-App

There is an example Visitor Sign in application that you or a developer can download and experiment with.

Postman

To make the development process easier we provide the API with a Postman collection of examples and tests.

The Postman tool is a free tool for managing RESTful API call collections in various conditions and can be used as the API descriptive doc and testing tool.

For more information on setting up the API see: https://sensoraccess.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022197731-GuardPoint10-API-Center-

Introducing GuardPoint’s: License Plate Number Recognition

Posted in Products, Solutions

Sensor’s GuardPoint software integrates License Plate Number Recognition (LPNR) – a full number plate reading and recognition system for vehicle access control such as car parks, reserved areas and airports.

This module plays an essential role in managing and restricting traffic and personnel flow to and from your site, with overall monitoring of staff parking.

How does it work?
A special camera is needed that is designed to act as a reader in a vehicle access control situation. As a car approaches, the camera reads the license plate which is then matched against the database of license plates previously entered into the access control system (GuardPoint). If there is a match, the corresponding user ID is sent to the access panel associated with the gate, and is granted access.

License Plate Number Recognition is a highly accurate system, capable of reading vehicle number plates without the need for human intervention regardless of time of day, speed of vehicle or climate. This is accomplished through the use of high speed image capture, detection of license plate characters within the images provided, and the decoding authorisation process. All user data is stored in your present access control system.

The Benefits of LPNR:
Control multiple locations/barriers in different car parks
Recognise all license plates with numbers and letters
Fully comprehensive reporting features
Fast and efficient access control
Fully automated functionality: reducing overall labour costs
High quality and functional cameras: ensures shorter queues in peak times getting in or out from work
Housing: designed for easy mounting on walls and poles
All sourced images can be exported to JPEG format
Monitors number plates both day and night

Introducing GuardPoint Pro’s: Guard Tour Module

Posted in Products, Solutions

The Guard Tour module is often overlooked in the GuardPointPro access control system.

This module allows you to utilise your existing access control system for guard patrol tours, as well as allowing you to accurately monitor times and movements of your security personal.

How does it work?

The Guard Tour facility allows various points on the premises to be defined as checkpoints which make up a ‘Guard Tour’. These points may be simple alarm points such as push buttons and key operated systems, or specific readers where the guard must pass a badge.

The Benefits of a Guard Tour include:

Simplicity – all information is stored in the Guard Point Software, accessible at any time including a history log of all guard tours in secure databases

Accountability – ability to track and create digital footprints of employees as well as achieve real-time management and guard-tour monitoring

Automation – ability to configure reports to be sent to clients in real time

Data Analysis – allows for the remote monitoring and analysis of data, with the option for real-time notifications

Remote Management – ability to relieve time-consuming paper procedures of assigning tasks and managing multiple areas, offering data interoperability and extensive management and communication

SALTO Software Integration with GuardPoint Pro

Posted in News, Solutions

Image showing a computer using the GuardPoint Pro software next to a door commonly used to read cards for access. Included at the bottom of the image are the Sensor Access and SALTO logos

Here at Sensor Access, we have developed a way to sync the SALTO database with our GuardPoint Pro database. This will allow our customers to have both systems managed from one piece of software as well as the ability to authorise SALTO and Sensor Access control systems to co-exist smoothly on the same site.

SALTO provides the first stand-alone, battery-powered electronic lock system in access control, offering a wire-free access control solution that is an ideal replacement for mechanical locks.

How does it work?

Using the latest version of GuardPoint Pro, the database produces a table that documents every change that is made in the cardholder screen. The SALTO software is then able to connect to the GuardPoint Pro database and read the data within the table at any given time.

When creating/deleting a cardholder or making any changes in the below cardholder fields, both systems are updated in real time. These fields consist of:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Access group list (from GuardPoint Pro cardholder screen)
  • Card code (the code of the cardholder’s card in GuardPoint Pro badge screen)

Advantages

  • Simple to install – wire free
  • Enrol a new user or replace a lost key in seconds
  • Cost-effective – save buying lost key replacements

Sensor’s Software Integration with Mitsubishi Lifts

Posted in News, Solutions

The Sensor Access Integration with Mitsubishi Lifts adds higher security and destination control to your building. The integration means that you can restrict access to the cardholder via time schedules and particular floors or destinations.
For example: one user can be assigned access to only the ground floor and 3rd floor from Monday to Friday.
The operation is such that the cardholder swipes their card on the lift reader which in turn displays only the floors the user has been granted access to on the lift floor selection panel.

How does it work?

In this integration, our GuardPoint Pro software sends a command directly from the Sensor control panel to the Mitsubishi lift controller. This replaces the conventional method of using relay outputs wired to inputs between the two panels. The Sensor controller requires a second RS485 port which is linked directly to the lift controller panel.

The Operation in GuardPoint Pro

In the GuardPoint Pro controller screen, users select the ‘Mitsubishi’ checkbox as the controller’s lift type. Then for each reader, they choose which floors to access and which lift doors to open (front and/or back).

Case Study: Chengdu Merchant Bank, China

Our Mitsubishi lift integration is currently being used at the Financial Service Center of the Chengdu Merchant Bank. The installation supervises 400+ doors and 34 lifts. There are currently 4000 active cardholders with the possibility to expand to 10,000.
